The first ever ‘Forum’ of VIM, CRECEMIENTO was launched on the 9^th of October, 2009. The Initiator of this forum is Prof. Jalpa Jadhav.

The Event commenced with the welcoming of the guests which included Dr. S. P. Kasande, Dr. Atul  Mehrotra and the chief guest Brig. Deepak Bajaj accompanied by his wife Mrs. Bajaj. The Director then, personally welcomed each and everyone to this enchanting event.

The Chief Guest, Guests, Col Purandhare, Col Sharma and the HR faculty members Prof. Jalpa Jadhav, Shweta Vohra and Prof. Shraddha Purandhare completed the tradition of lighting the lamp and inaugurated the forum by pulling the ribbons which unveiled the name of the forum – CRECEMIENTO after the flex rolled down. This innovative way of unveiling ‘Crecemiento’ was hugely appreciated by the guests and the audience.

Brig. Deepak Bajaj was then introduced after which he gave an insightful speech on HR.

Prof. Jalpa Jadhav introduced the idea and thought behind the Forum and gave a brief on its Plans, Objectives and future activities.

The guests were then felicitated with a gift and a sapling as a token of Love and Appreciation.

For the competition Five teams participated which had topics like

Miscommunication, Interviews, Strikes Communication Training and Development and many more.

Participants entertained with lot of humorous dialogues All the participants and the students enjoyed the event and every play ended with a message of learning.

The Judges for the Event were Prof. Vivek Phadke, Prof. Abhijeet Kelkar and Prof. Meenal Dhotre. The winners of the street play were the team from MBA B Division.

The launch of the forum followed by the first activity was a grand success.

The HR Forum, Crecimiento, hosted its second event, the ‘Case Study Exhibition’ on the 23^rd January, 2010. It was an inter-disciplinary event where six teams participated. Each team was given a case study and preparation time of five days, to come up with a solution and formulate models to support the solution. The exhibition was evaluated by Prof. Vivek Phadke, Col. Purandare, Prof. Ranjana Tamhane and Prof. Nilesh Patil.

The exhibits were displayed for three days, after which the prize distribution was held on the 26^th January, 2010. The winners of the exhibition were Team 4 – Jayesh More, Archana Singh, Mansi Madake, Jennifer Swami and Jogesh and the runners up were Team 3 – Meenal Patel, Khushnawaz Munshi, Namita Shrivastava, Sanket Bhor and Arnold Prasad.

This event for carried out with lots zeal and enthusiasm by the students and it not only exhibited the analytical but also the creative abilities of the students.

It is said that, “The world is getting smaller by the day”, and Virtual Organization, the activity undertaken by MBA- I students rightly accentuated the above line.

The activity on Virtual Organization was envisaged by Prof. Jalpa Jadhav and practically implemented by the students’ team comprising of Megha Kanchhal, Prachi Nagras, Vikrant Arya, Punit Kamdar and Kushal Bubna. Through this activity the students provided deeper insights into virtual organization. Virtual organization is a pseudo organization, wherein the members are geographically apart and usually work by computer, e-mail and groupware. It is a unified organization with no real physical location. Various concepts like virtual teams, the characteristics, the features, and role of HR in Virtual Organization. The concept was explained and displayed in simple and lucid language by the students.

The activity was unveiled by Dr. Anita Joshi on the 25^th of January 2010, in the kind presence of Major B.V. Naik , Dr. Shailesh Kasande (Director VIM), Dr. Atul Mehrotra (Dean-academics) Prof. Vivek Phadke and Prof. Jalpa Jadhav. The dignitaries present on the occasion gave valuable suggestions and encouraged the students to keep up the excellent work.

The HR Forum of VIM- Crecimiento promises to undertake many more exciting ventures like Virtual Organization in the near future.
